A great property, quiet Fort Ground neighborhood yet just a few minutes walk to the beach and downtown. Great parking, fully stocked kitchen and the bedrooms are private while the central room and porches are great for gathering.

We enjoyed our stay here! The layout was perfect for large groups because there were lots of places to gather in the home. The lake was beautiful and having access to the canoes was wonderful.

Everything was great especially the AC. Communication could have been better regarding the difficulty in finding parking for a boat trailer but we made it work. Overall very satisfied

Very clean and comfortable house in a great location. We were a five minute walk to a park and the city Beach. Really easy to get in and house was immaculate. Thank you!
Peaceful, clean, close to restaurants and shops

Loved this property! The backyard is great, the big tree, lawn furniture and barbeque were perfect. The kitchen is very well stocked, we could do all the cooking we wanted or walk to a local restaurant if we were feeling lazy. The large PC screen in the basement was a hit with the teenager in the group gaming with friends. The pictures don’t do this property justice.
Would definitely stay there again!
Great location and large enough for a large family getaway.

Short version:
This place is perfect for a large family. We had 20 people here and felt there was plenty of space for all. We came in he middle of a heat wave and the house has no AC, but the lake was helpful too cool off. There were fans and window units in the bedroom which helped a lot. If any member of your party has difficulty with stairs, this is not the home for your group. There is 76 stairs from the main level to the boat dock, 85 from the upper level to the dock. When you stay at this house, every day is a leg day but because of the view and the lake and the beauty all around, it hurts so good.
Detailed version (for folks like me who need more info)
There are 2 bedrooms in the upper level. •One large master bathroom with an area just outside the bedroom and then the master bath with a separate tub and shower. •The room with the four bunk beds is also on this level – the bunk room has a small sink in it which was perfect to help with our large group.
The main level has a very spacious and well stocked kitchen. Off the dining room is a beautiful patio with more seating an bbq. There is an office that has been converted to a bedroom. This room is very small, has no AC and has French doors with glass and curtains, so not a ton of privacy. Also on the main floor with a family room, there is a large mud room and a large laundry room. The garage entry is also here but is not used as part of the house – it was locked to guests. However we had enough parking for our six vehicles and trailer.
The next level has another large master room with large walk in closet and bathroom. Another smaller bedroom is down the hall with a bathroom and a final bedroom at the end of the hall. Minus the one bedroom across from the bath, these are large rooms.
Down a few more stairs is a game room with a quad bunk house. There are hooks to hang life jackets on and fusball table. Down another flight of stairs will lead you toward the lake. Once you leave the house you will find a large covered patio with furniture and another flight of stairs that will lead you to a large fire pit area/ grassy area. Yet another flight of stairs will lead you to the dock. While there is lots of stairs there is also lots of room.
The lake is beautiful. Two canoes were available, but we didn’t use them. The dock held all our 20 kayaks/paddle boards and had seating available.
I love to stay in homes that you know are full of love and have created lots of memories. This is definitely one of them. Well stocked and clean, we highly recommend!

The accommodations I originally booked turned out to be occupied when I arrived for check in. I went directly the vacation rental office, where I was treated with respect and apologies. They provided me another upgraded rental for me immediately, and they were professional, thoughtful, and really gracious about the whole situation. I would recommend this vacation rental company and any of their properties whole-heartedly.

Our family had a wonderful time connecting at this beautiful home. The views from every room overlooked the lake and lots of wildlife roaming on the meadow below the house. The house offers many opportunities for connecting while giving everyone space. The town of Coeur de Alene was so close and we spent a lot of time at the amazing children’s park.

This is a great cabin – just as pictured. Although it says it’s “1 bedroom, 3 beds, and 1 bath” - there is more to it than that. There is a murphy bed on the main floor of the cabin, a loft with 2 beds, and then a separate loft building with another 2 beds. We slept on the murphy bed which really could use a new mattress. Right when we pulled the bed down, there were two trough indentations where you lay. I’d suggest bringing your own pillows.
There is no AC, but there are a lot of fans including an attic fan which pulls the heat out of the cabin. (In the hot months, this would make the loft area unappealing to sleep both from heat and the noise of the attic fan.) There are also no windows that open. The front door has a screen door on it (which is beautiful) and then there is a slider door with a screen. So at night, you do have to be trusting in order to let a breeze in because neither screen door can be locked. Note – the switch for the attic fan is to the right of the fridge (it is quite loud).
Kitchen is decently appointed. Huge dishwasher. Ice maker in the fridge worked nicely. A fair amount of pots and pans, but not a lot of sheet pans or oven-safe dishes Salt and pepper were there, but no other basics.
The location. Loved that it is right on the water. The deck is amazing and the dock is in excellent condition! However, the cabin is 30 minutes from most amenities like a grocery store or restaurant. HIGHLY recommend you stop at the store prior to going to the cabin. There is a small grocery for essentials – called Hutton’s – about 5 minutes from the cabin; however it is just for the basics. They also had flatbreads which looked tasty.
There is a paddleboat available; however it does have a leak – which they’ve tried to repair but that’s not holding. The trunk on the dock has some floaties and life vests as well.
The biggest downfall of the cabin is the bathroom shower – which is extremely small. I’m 5’4″ and it worked for me. But if my 6′ barrel-chested son were to stay here, he’d struggle to move around in that shower. It’s a nicely done bathroom with pebble floor and ceramic tile – just very small.
Overall I probably would not rent this particular unit again mostly due to the location as I like to eat out when I’m on vacation. But I would definitely try to rent from Vacation Rental Authority. They were great to work with when we had to shuffle some things around. And when I did a chat session just to mention the screen door was having some issues, they were out right away to get it repaired. (I was just letting them know for future reference.)

Amazing Mountain Top Home!
July 31, 2021
Great high-end home about 25 mins from downtown Coeur d’Alene. Huge home, incredibly well outfitted, stunning views of the lake and valley below, quiet/peaceful, hot tub, huge deck with a great grill, and can sleep a small village! :-). Perfect home base for hiking, boating, golfing, skiing, and simply unplugging.
